Artist on Santa Fe Gallery presents “Between Dreams,” an exhibition of recent abstract oil and cold wax paintings by Jon Koenigsberg on view September 16 – October 12, 2026, at 747 Santa Fe Drive. In this show, Koenigsberg connects the creative process to the thin line between dreams and reality—both which require an openness to uncertainty and a willingness to question our perception—where the impossible is suddenly possible.
The public is invited to an artist reception on Friday, September 25, 6-9 p.m., and to stop in during the First Friday Art Walk on October 2, 5–9 p.m. or to explore the show during the adjusted gallery hours during construction on Santa Fe Drive. Until further notice, the gallery will be open 3 days a week— Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.– 5 p.m., and Sunday Noon – 4 p.m., including First and Third Friday Art Walks. Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood as well as in the lot to the South of the building, accessible from the alley.
The use of subtle colors, patterns and textures in Koenigsberg’s pieces reflect the liminal space before the soothing routine of sleep and dreams take hold.
“I often find myself lost in between the rhythm of sleep and wakefulness, that vague, fuzzy, gray time we have all experienced. Occasionally, during those times between dreams, images come to me, but more often than not, what I paint is more the feelings that come to me between dreams.”
The building is also home to the working studios of 25 + artists. Visitors are invited to explore and discover this exciting and enduring creative hub. Hours during construction are Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays, Noon to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Open extended evening hours for art walks on the First and Third Friday of each month. For more information, visit www.artistsonsantafe.com.
