Important Information Regarding Summer First Friday Vending

Please note: below is an overview of changes being implemented to First Fridays in May, June, July, and September 2025. For more background information on these changes and current updates, please read our open letter here.

First Fridays on Santa Fe are beloved community events that have grown into a life of their own—bringing many different people together and celebrating the culture of our neighborhood. Within the past few years, we’ve experienced challenging situations related to foot and vehicle traffic, inaccessible sidewalks, illegal vending practices, and more. To stand by our motto of "Art For All" and to foster a safe space for our patrons, the ADSF is implementing a new vending system with designated vendor spots, closed avenues, and traffic control support. This new vending system will go into effect starting May First Friday through September First Friday

How it works:

  1. Vendors must register beforehand through a registration link and pay a small fee.

  2. Vendors will be assigned a designated space for each event they register for.

  3. 7th, 9th, and 10th Avenues will be closed to traffic for vendors and food trucks. Santa Fe Drive will remain open to traffic.

  4. Vendors will not be allowed to set up on sidewalks along Santa Fe Drive. Sidewalk permits will be in effect to keep them clear and accessible to large crawds.

How will this help:

  1. Relocates busy vending areas to closed side streets. Ensures safety between pedestrians and vehicles.

  2. Sidewalks will remain more accessible to large crowds and for visitors with disabilities or other mobility challenges.

  3. Small businesses along Santa Fe Drive will have greater visibility and be easier to access.

  4. Vendor opportunities for local artists and artisans will be more fair and organized.

After 22 years of operation, these changes are necessary to sustain this cherished tradition. We ask for your understanding and support going forward. The ADSF sincerely thanks the people of Colorado and beyond for continuing to love our Arts District. As mentioned above, please feel free to read our open letter for even more information and current updates.
