Frequently Asked Questions

How can I sign up to vend at First Fridays?

Vendor registration with the Art District on Santa Fe will be available for First Friday Art walks in May, June, July, and September 2025. You can learn more about registering for these events here. For August First Friday vending info, please visit our August First Friday page. Stationary street vendors not registered with ADSF will not be permitted on sidewalks along Santa Fe Drive between 6th and 11th aves, nor within barricaded areas of 7th, 9th, and 10th aves. during these events.

Please note that street vending is not permitted during any other First Friday events, as the street is open to traffic and sidewalks cannot be blocked for accessibility/pedestrian right-of-way reasons. Per the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI), the city will not be approving sidewalk occupancy permits for vendors on any First Friday due to the number of pedestrians present at these events. This applies to individuals placing any equipment—such as instruments, amplifiers, or display tables—even if they are not actually vending any goods. If you have further questions, please contact the city's department of Excise and Licensing for more information and to review full permit requirements.

There are still opportunities to participate as a vendor or an artist through artist markets, artist pop-ups, featured exhibitions, and other ADSF signature events. The best way to stay in the know is to follow ADSF socials and ADSF members’ socials.

During what months do First Fridays take place?

First Fridays take place all year round on the First Friday of every month, rain or shine!

Is Santa Fe Drive closed on First Fridays/Why isn't Santa Fe Drive closed every First Friday?

Santa Fe Drive is only closed during August First Friday. Closing down Santa Fe Drive requires city permits, emergency services, security patrol, additional staff, and more. As a small, mostly volunteer-run nonprofit, the costs of running a street closure more than once per year currently far exceed ADSF's budget. Keeping August as our largest First Friday ensures the best quality event.

Do you have studio space available?

The ADSF does not manage studio space in the district and artists seeking space should reach out to studios/co-ops directly. The ADSF Studio & Headquarters is for our ADSF Emerging Artist Residency Program only.

How can I submit events to be featured on your website?

You must be a member of the ADSF to submit an event and have it posted on our events calendar. Event promotion is one of our membership perks and can also include features on our social channels. Check out our membership tiers to see what perks best suits your needs!
