CHERI AWALT
BOARD MEMBER
Cheri Awalt is a recent transplant to Colorado, originally from California. A life-long appreciator of the arts, she holds a degree in Art History from the University of California, Davis. During her studies, she was given the opportunity to intern at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center in Carmichael, California, which kicked off her career and laid the foundation for her passionate support of artists, arts organizations, and the broader creative community.
Over the last several years, she has held key positions at several nonprofit galleries in the greater Sacramento area, including two years serving as the Deputy Director of the esteemed Verge Center for the Arts. Her expertise is in providing crucial support to large-scale community programs, events, artists and exhibitions, and ensuring that the public can access and engage with the arts in a meaningful way.
Since moving to Colorado, Cheri has joined the team at the Curtis Center for the Arts and the volunteer program at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in addition to her board service for the Arts District on Santa Fe. She is eager to continue to bolster the vitality of the arts in her new community.
