The ZONE Marketplace
about
The Zone Marketplace, Denver’s first retail incubator, was launched in 2013. This program promotes one of the pillars of NEWSED’s mission by fostering small business development. ZONE clients enjoy an affordable rent in a centrally located storefront, while developing their business plans, receiving financial coaching, and connecting to strategic partners. The ZONE Marketplace is home to 11 BIPOC retail businesses in the heart of the Art District on Santa Fe Drive. Showcasing Veteran, Latinx, African American, Native American, and women owned businesses.
Today the ZONE features small business owners who sell items and are growing a commercial customer base. Businesses like beauty care products that represented women’s’ diverse skin colors from International Spectrum Cosmetics. There are entrepreneurs like LaTasha Bell, owner of Ashae Soaps who sells a creative variety of hand and home-made unique soaps. Latasha is a single parent, who has dreams of expanding and selling her products in multiple hotels. You can buy from Brian Loma, owner of A Free Press Printing & Apparel Company, who incorporates social and political themes on his clothing line. The ZONE Marketplace also includes everything from creative athleisure wear by Lunapparel, hair products and accessories by Sharma’s Hair & Accessories, unique native blankets by Her Story Boutique, chic hand-sewn leather bags by Nita Louise, locally made beard balm by Doc Goodbeard, trendy California fashion by La La Fashion and Clothes & Accessories by Corinne’s Boutique.
