Karats & Carats is a new, woman-owned jewelry studio based in Denver’s Baker neighborhood. The artist, Gina Kay Kaufman, discovered her passion for fine jewelry years ago while working with a small jeweler in Oregon. After moving to Denver with her partner, she dove into formal smithing classes at the Clear Creek Academy of Jewelry in South Denver. Today, Gina proudly participates in the Art District on Santa Fe, staying connected to the creative community and engaging in local events—even without a brick-and-mortar storefront. She especially loves designing custom pieces, collaborating with clients to bring their unique ideas to life.

The mission of Karats & Carats is to create fine, handmade jewelry that reflects a wide range of styles and stories. The studio embraces slow fashion values by prioritizing transparency, sustainable materials, and inclusivity. Gina saw a need for accessible jewelry that still looks and feels high-quality. In response, she thoughtfully designs pieces that can be worn comfortably by all genders, customized to the individual, and adapted with accessibility-friendly features such as easy-to-use clasps and adjustable sizes.
