March is the Month of Printmaking (Mo'Print)—a biennial event celebrating the fine art of making original, hand crafted print. Printmaking, in particular, is a visual language that is almost inextricable from its origins as a tool for disseminating political and cultural ideology to the masses.
This exhibition features ten local artists who explore printmaking as a tool at the intersection of art, ideology, and activism in Denver; a window into the fraught yet powerful sociopolitical consciousness of our city today.
During the opening reception, Mara Wroblewski will be offering live printmaking with their featured "Fuck Ice" design! Bring your own clothing, tote bags, or whatever you'd like to print on (canvas, linen, cotton, or blend). $15 per print with a third donated to the immigration Freedom Fund.
Featured Artists: Ada Gonzalez Alcaraz, Blake Ballard, Riley “Sylvie” Martin, Brenda Garcia Mijares, Michele Montgomery, Jini Veenker, Evan Wang, Riley Welsh, and Mara Wroblewski.
Banner Image: Mara Wroblewski, “Bad Dog,” and “Being Good.”
