Vestiges of Ocean and Prairie: A Selection of Landscape Photography and Abstract Paintings presents photographs and abstract paintings honoring the beauty of Ocean and Earth. As an abstract intuitive painter, much of Carilli’s inspiration is based in the natural world. The photographs are from the Pacific Northwest, Colorado Foothills, and the Prairie. The selected paintings are abstractions from nature. The ocean and prairie are expansive spaces. They open our hearts to contemplation and renewal. The shoreline of the ocean has an endless view, a primal pull into the beyond. The prairie in all its permutations provides a glimpse into eternity. And the fragility of our planet is exposed.
