Pop Gallery Denver, the city’s most recent transplant from Santa Fe, New Mexico, is hosting its first debut of the summer featuring works from celebrated international artist Daniel Martin Diaz. The exhibition will begin with a soft opening on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 pm as part of the Santa Fe Arts District's third-Friday collectors walk.
Daniel will be coming to the city for the first weekend in August with a casual meet-and-greet planned for the First Friday Art Walk on August 1st from 6-8 pm, and a more intimate artist’s mingle planned for Saturday, August 2 starting at 6:00pm. This July show represents Daniel’s first exhibition in Denver and is a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire museum quality work by Diaz. Collectors are encouraged to contact the gallery directly for a private viewing.
The show, titled Universal Codes, collects an impressive array of work from Daniels’ recent exhibitions around the nation, including pieces from a spring show of Daniel’s work hosted by the Everheart Museum of Natural Sciences, History & Art in Scranton, PA. Daniel’s work is strongly influenced by his interest in Science, but he also pulls from an eclectic mix of influences, including fantastical Mexican religious iconography, mystical votive offerings, Early Netherlandish painters, Gothic ornamentation, arcane religious sigils and medallions, alchemy and the symbolism of secret societies to create distinctive paintings. Daniel was commissioned to do the cover and several interior illustrations for a project by author George R. R. Martin titled Game of Thrones: A Guide to Westeros and Beyond—The Complete Series. His client list ranges from PBS, Atlantic Records, and the Los Angeles Times to Low Rider Magazine.
After a 20-year run as one of the premier destination galleries from the well-known arts scene in New Mexico, POP Gallery Denver is proud to host Daniel Martin Diaz as their first major exhibition in their new home in the Denver's Arts District on Santa Fe.
