The Realms of Wonder exhibition features the semi-solo shows of four members of D’art Gallery, Barbara DeMarlie, Shelley Hull, Carrie MaKenna and Blaise Simonelli. The exhibition runs for four weeks, August 29 - September 22. Each artist brings their unique perspective to the work they are showing in the gallery.

DeMarlie and MaKenna are two of the founding members of D’art Gallery who are joined in the exhibition space by new members Hull and Simonelli. DeMarlie presents a new direction in her work that features a more hard-edged but painterly expression in abstracted forms using a vibrant color palette. While MaKenna focuses on the ever-changing skies of Colorado and other locations using a thick textural ground and layers of color on color to bring out the depth of field in otherwise simple compositions. Hull continues her series of vast yet intimate landscapes that rely on simplified shapes and subdued color palettes evoking a modernist vision of the world. And Simonelli presents subtle paintings that hint at a place and time yet remain equally abstract.

The opening reception for this exhibition is Friday August 30, 6-9pm
