The storyteller doll is a clay figure made by the Pueblo people of New Mexico and a universal image across indigenous cultures. It is a figure of a storyteller, which is usually a man or a woman or animal with his or her mouth open, surrounded by figures of children or other images that represent listening to a story being told. In this workshop we will get inspiration from the storyteller figure, and dive into our own stories, lineages, family, and rituals to create a unique Storyteller of our own. This is a two part workshop, part one we’ll sculpt the storyteller, and part two we’ll decorate.
