Access Gallery is thrilled to present Nature’s Embrace, a group exhibition of works inspired by our encounters with the natural world. In honor of springtime in Colorado, this show will blossom with artworks both inspired by and depicting plants, flowers, animals, landscapes, and more. Nature’s Embrace will be on view at 909 Santa Fe Drive from June 7 - July 20, 2024.
Join Access Gallery for Third Friday at the gallery on Friday, June 21 for our Meet the Artists event featuring artist talks with the exhibiting artists. This intimate community event will take place from 6 - 8 PM at our gallery space and is free and open to the public.
Many Access Gallery artists use nature as a consistent theme in their work. With this in mind, the work showcased in Nature’s Embrace highlights the exhibiting artists’ natural muses and creative practices. Additionally, the exhibition will feature a large-scale installation by a group of collaborating Access Gallery artists.
Nature’s Embrace was born from a mixed media class taught by Niza Knoll, owner of Knoll Gallery. Knoll designed an Access Gallery class to explore mixed media art that resulted in the large-scale installation of birds that will soar through the gallery. The installation is made from armature-building techniques and reused materials such as plastic bottles, single serving cups, and cardboard. As each bird began to take shape in the studio, artists began naming their creations and creating histories for each one. Every bird has a personality of its own and audiences are invited to explore the layers of material, inspiration, and whimsy throughout this special exhibition.
Participating Artists: Alonzo Clemons, Chris Wilburn, Heather H. Indre, Skylar K.
