NKollectiv is proud to be celebrating one year in their gallery space at 960 Santa Fe Drive with a new exhibition of abstract encaustic works by member Kelly Austin-Rolo. “Renew and Regenerate” considers how personal and experiential growth lends the strength for change —in art, life and spirituality. The public is invited to view the exhibit September 15–October 15, 2023, during regular gallery hours Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays Noon–5 pm; Fridays Noon–8 pm; Sundays 11 am–4 pm and during the special events as listed below. The Artist will be in attendance at the reception and in the gallery on Friday evenings through September as well as Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 24th during regular business hours. The artist’s reception will also be a celebration of the one-year anniversary of NKollectiv’s presence in the Art District on Santa Fe.

Artist’s Reception: Friday, September 22, 6-9 pm
Sundays on Santa Fe Art Walk: September 24, 11 am-3 pm
First Friday Art Walk: October 6, 5-9

The exhibition includes several pieces that Austin-Rolo has reworked over the last 18 months, describing her inspiration for this process as such:

“This show considers the changes I have made both creatively and personally in the last two years. I have pieces of art that I cherish and hold tightly, yet noting that I have grown in skill and technique, I can let these pieces be renewed, giving them a new space while honoring their beginnings. Renew & Regenerate honors my endurance and my perseverance. Moments of disruption can create opportunities for inspired creative and individual shifts.”

Austin-Rolo is an intuitive artist in that she has no preconceived notions of what her final product will be, and loves the process of working with the texture, layers and patterns of wax, her primary medium. Most of her works contain circles as she connects with all they can represent—completeness, wholeness, inclusivity, unity ¬and well as their infinite and cyclical nature. She graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Design.
