The endless talk of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the zeitgeist in recent months has elicited an array of reactions—as is common when new technology emerges— from enthusiasm about the possibilities to deep anxiety and concern. In anticipation of this ongoing and important conversation, Niza Knoll Gallery invited selected artists to recreate or reimagine an existing, self-created artwork using an AI tool as a creative partner. The works will be showcased in the highly anticipated exhibition, "AI-Morphosis" an exploration into the fascinating realm where human creativity and artificial intelligence converge, opening on August 18th and running through September 24th, 2023, at 915 Santa Fe Drive. Art enthusiasts, technology aficionados, and curious minds are invited to view the show during regular gallery hours, Thursday-Sunday 1-4 pm and during the following special events:
Opening Reception: Friday, August 18, 5-8 pm
Sundays on Santa Fe Art Walk: Sunday, August 27, 11 am-3 pm
First Friday Art Walk: Friday, September 1, 5-9 pm
Panel Discussion: Sunday, September 3, 2:30 pm
The exhibition delves into the transformative power of AI as a creative catalyst, redefining the artistic landscape and challenging conventional notions of artistic production. It brings together visionary Denver-based artists from diverse backgrounds, united by their shared interest in exploring the infinite possibilities of AI-driven artistry. Participating artists are Rick Dallago, Howard Harris, Tyree Jones, Adrien Law, Charles Luna, Sista Luna, Aliki McCain, Ann Morgan, Andre Rodriquez, and Topher Straus.
"This exhibit aims to spark a thought-provoking conversation about the dynamic relationship between human imagination and the ever-evolving capabilities of artificial intelligence," said Gallerist Niza Knoll, "we aim to showcase how AI augments and amplifies the creative vision of artists.”
There will be a panel discussion with select artists at the gallery where attendees will gain insights into the underlying technology and its impact on the contemporary art landscape, fostering a deeper appreciation for the interplay between the two.
