SYNC Gallery Presents Radiance by Bev Ruiz & Joy Redstone

Bev Ruiz's series of paintings in this show is a self-reflection of the inner glow we all have. Whether we realize it or not, Ruiz notes, we are all constantly seeking ways to add light to our lives. Ruiz's hope is that the viewer sees the luminosity and brilliance through her art as a reflection of themselves. May we bask in happiness, hope, and beauty, like basking in the radiance of an afternoon sun.

Joy Redstone's work in Radiance reveals that light shows what is hidden. Light ushers in the morning and shows us both what is worn and what is beautiful in our lover's faces. When the light fades along the spine of the mountaintops, the pale lemon rind of the light speaks to what we hope to forget with night's surcease and what we achingly remember when dawn touches us again. The radiance itself may not hold the answer to our heart's most poignant questions but we must content ourselves with the gifts it reveals. The art Redstone makes speaks to the resplendent world that she sees as an artist. In the show Radiance, she shares the luminosities that make our hearts sing. The photographs in Radiance demonstrate how light falls lovingly on people and the natural world.
