Ink Lounge has 2 new exhibits to celebrate the Month of Photography Denver biennial festival and both artists will be at this unique opening.
“Home is Where the Heart Is” features a series of 3ftx4ft B&W photo collages created by Denver artist Devin “Speaks” Urioste that embody the city as a home and speak to values he holds close. Representing his community, staying true to his culture, forever seeking knowledge, and using his knowledge as a tool to facilitate critical thinking in his community.
“Utah.” is a series of B&W screen printed photos taken by Ink Lounge owner Stuart Alden documenting a 2006 road trip with his mother and brother to Utah after his oldest sister had shot and killed her husband. It’s purpose is not to pass judgment, instead to provide a glimpse of the emotions and environment from the tragedy. 100% of all Ink Lounge sales during the opening exhibit will be donated to support the Women’s Bean Project.
Location: Ink Lounge’s outdoor GalleRy space / 29 S Fox Street, Denver CO 80223 The outdoor exhibit will be available to view through May 2003 and is accessible by walking down the alley on Ellsworth, between S Fox and S Galapago. Look for the sign by the fence.
