Kim Putnam: "Wide Open Spaces"
Wide Open Spaces is a celebration of space and marks the start of a new chapter in my life and my artwork. Over the last year, my husband and I sold our house, moved into a small 900 sq. ft apartment with our two adult daughters and searched for a property on the Western Slope. In response to the shrinking of my domestic space and studio, I turned to the sky for inspiration. Sunrises and Sunsets, clouds and precipitation offered an opportunity to explore color and light while I dreamed of our new home and life in Palisade, Colorado.

Joyce Coco: "Lemons"
I love lemons! Yes, everything about them: their saturated color, the fragrance, shape, and perhaps most of all, their ability to transform. Lemons have a universal appeal and are associated with a range of meanings and symbols: purity, fertility, feminine sexuality, and spiritual cleansing. The tangy scent of lemons is thought to have a purifying effect on the mind.

Madeleine Dodge & Frederic Pichon in the North Gallery : "Checkmate"
In our collaborative pieces, artists Madeleine Dodge and Fred Pichon bring forth a dance of creation akin to a delicate chess game. It's not just working together; it's understanding, embracing, and expanding on each other's ideas, like chess players strategizing their moves.

Our shared passion for experimentation shapes a process where individual styles merge into a cohesive narrative. We work on a grid-like canvas to find a balance between intention and spontaneity, much like moving pieces on a chess board.

Materials like found objects, reclaimed items, and traditional supplies infuse depth and dimensionality. These layers mirror life experiences, emotions, and memories we draw upon for inspiration.

These artworks are not just a product of two minds; they're a celebration of artistic possibilities when talents unite. Come engage with our work, uncovering the hidden moves and connections beneath the surface, just as each chess game tells a unique story.

Checkmate speaks of human connection and the boundless creativity born when artists unite.
