Michael Warren Contemporary (MWC) is pleased to present “Mergers –new work by Collin Parson.” We will have a concurrent exhibition of new work by Liz Hickok (San Francisco).
We are thrilled to present this new series of works by Collin Parson. This series examines the merging and colliding of distinct points of view visualized as lightness and darkness. In this series of works Parson further examines his use of reflective surfaces, interfering moiré patterns and for the first time, offset prints that he recently completed during an intensive residency with Sue Oehme of Oehme Graphics up in Steamboat Springs.
Born and raised in Colorado, Collin Parson currently serves as the Director of Galleries and Curator for the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities in Arvada, Colorado and is a former member at the historic Pirate: Contemporary Art cooperative and alumni of the artist residency program at RedLine Denver. Parson received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Design and Technology with an emphasis in Lighting and Scene Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned his Master in Arts in Visual Culture and Arts Administration from Regis University in Denver. His creative work involves the control of light, pattern, and color to create perceptual light and space works. Growing up in a family of artists, Collin is proud to be continuing educational and creative traditions.
