Niza Knoll Gallery invited local ceramic artists to exhibit works for the new show “FIRED” running January 28 through February 27, 2022, at Niza Knoll Gallery, 915 Santa Fe Drive.
The show is unique in that it features hand-built pieces where each design is built by manipulating the clay using only hands and simple tools; unlike pottery that is created with the aid of a wheel. The creations are fired in a kiln allowing the high heat to harden the clay and are later adorned with glazes or other media. The ten remarkable artists in this show each present a very distinct, personal style ranging from abstract to representational, surreal to functional. Whether one’s taste leans toward modern sculpture or more playful decorative works, there is much to discover at FIRED.
The public is invited to an Opening Reception on Friday, January 28 from 5-8 pm. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. Visit www.nizaknollgallery.com for the most up to date gallery hours and to view and purchase work online. The exhibiting artists in FIRED are Macy Dorf, Caroline Douglas, Peter Durst, Nancy Enyart, Trish Gans, Leona Lazar, Kristy Melodia, Julia Mulligan, Jean Smith and Carol Warzel.
