Fred Voigt Becker hosts a solo exhibition, titled, "Inviolable Work" in the East Gallery, of D'Art Contemporary Art Gallery, located at 900 Santa Fe Drive, from Thursday, September 23, through Sunday, October 17, 2021. This show runs concurrently with Exhibitions by Carrie MaKenna and Kelly Austin-Rolo.
In “Inviolable Work” Becker explores the push and pull of color next to color, line, and gesture. Using oil and cold wax on canvas or birch panels, Becker paints large, his works ranging from 60 x 35 inches to 72 x 72 inches. He explains his process this way, "The vocabulary of shapes, colors, and gestures have coalesced out of a lifetime of observation and have become intuitive and ecstatic. Paintings coming from this peaceful, joyous place cannot be tarnished or diminished." They are truly "inviolable."
Becker lives and paints in Denver, Colorado. He studied painting and printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of Core New Art Space. He has displayed his work in numerous galleries in the metro area. His work can be viewed at https://fredvoigtbecker.art.
