About the Artists
Tony Ankele
Creating works that will take the viewer on a journey through fantasy, realisms and impressionistic creations that are created in mind or influenced by nature and the environments that I have been exposed to. Having minimal formal training, I have studied independently throughout my artistic career. I have also had the opportunity to absorb artistic direction and invite the influences offered by influential artists that I have befriended throughout my career. These resources have influenced me to create in many mediums and in several techniques that keep my creativity open to an array of subject matter and offer me an unrestricted and open canvas to create in various mediums to manipulate and express myself.
Angel Ramirez
I’ve always had an interest in costumes or regalia, whether used in ceremonies or in theater. I have experimented with incorporating my colored pencil drawings with my acrylic paintings and also doing collage with phone book pages . I try to make Art that reflects my background, my experience and my heritage. Art has been a lifelong passion. I have a bachelor's degree in Art with an emphasis in crafts from Metropolitan State College. I have taught children’s art classes in several summer and after school programs. Have been a member of CHAC art gallery for approximately 6 years.
Georgia Mucilli
I am a Colorado native raised in North Denver now called the Highlands. My daughter and her family live in the Highlands, and I enjoy reliving my memories as I travel the streets and making new ones. I am an RN and practiced for 25 years, I had to retire due to back surgery and could no longer practice nursing. I then had to reinvent myself and turned to my creative side, which had taken a backseat for years. I get lost in my painting and try to tell a story with each piece. I paint on canvas as well as paper. I get a “kick” now, painting on Barnwood, which almost seems to paint itself when I can find the appropriate subject. I studied with Lanette Duncan, Raleigh Kenney, Betty Carr and recently Ken Hobson. My biggest loves in life are my family and friends and I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoyed painting them.
Fred Jurado
My father was an Artist and instilled and helped to develop talents as I was growing up to my siblings and myself. He also started a Silk Screen Printing Business that I worked in and ran. We did a lot of Art Reproduction for some local and Internationally known Artists as well as Commercial Prototype and Pont of Purchase Print Medium. I was exposed to a wide variety of styles and processes and worked closely with other Artists in exploring how their mediums can best be transitioned into Silk Screen translation. I saw what was coming through our shop and decided to do my own Artwork and in the early 80s I opened a Gallery in Georgetown, Co., “Graphic West” exclusively with my own works. It was a very Enlightening experience. I learned a lot about that end of the business.
