We all have our personal stories of how the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown unfolded for us—how it affected our day-to-day lives, loved ones we cared for or lost, how it changed our perspective and revealed something in ourselves or others. Bitfactory Gallery requested artists to submit artworks created during this time as a way to build a collective story and learn about the experience of others. Some created pandemic-themed art to process their thoughts. For others it may have affected their creative practice or style. Entries were curated by juror Amy Métier and the selected works will be displayed in a group exhibition of 2-d artwork called Viral Hope from August 20 - September 9, 2021.
The public is invited to the gallery for an Opening Reception on August 20, 2021, 6-9 pm and to view the show during First Friday Art Walk September 3, 2021, 6-10 pm and Tuesdays through Saturdays 11 am to 4 pm for the run of the show. Work can also be viewed and purchased online at www.bitfactory.net
