The main gallery will be divided to give a dedicated space for Dan Baumbach and Lydia Riegle to display an entire body of work. Dan Baumbach creates his abstract and semi abstract macro photographs as an entry point for his personal expression. For Dan, an “entry point” is an object through which one can enter a state of expanded awareness. Anyone can experience an “entry point”. It can happen while one is walking in nature, at the ocean, viewing a sunset or listening to music. One becomes immersed in the experience and is taken out of their small self into a peaceful and joyous state. Dan usually finds his “entry points” in nature. He may be sitting in grass, stooping by a creek, walking on ice or wandering on a trail. He remains focused on subjects, colors, shapes and feelings. When shooting macro photographs, he takes the time to pick out what he wants to photograph from the myriad possibilities. He spends time being present to the quiet to see the subtleties and colors around him. From this quiet, he composes, focuses and creates his macro images. Dan Baumbach invites the viewer to let his photographs act as entry points, inviting everyone to enter into them and enjoy the quiet.
