Michael Warren Contemporary (MWC) is pleased to present “Kelton Osborn - Inaccessible Spaces.” We will have a concurrent exhibition of new work by Meghan Wilbar.
Kelton Osborn continues his process of making connections through accidental relationships (discontinuity.) It is not necessarily about creating beauty but about finding unplanned relationships and outcomes.
Osborn says “Sometimes built forms created with architectural convention limit how people inhabit spaces. These paintings are an exploration of concepts that help me rethink the built environment. For me, the large scale encourages physical interaction with the surface of the canvas, revealing unexpected results. I am able to work with small intimate details, large forms and colors simultaneously. These “studies” provide ample information for me to apply to three-dimensional interpretations and other architectural applications.”
Kelton attended the University of New Mexico where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, with a Minor in Fine Arts/Printmaking. He earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is principal of QUICK-BEND design LLC, a local studio producing furniture, buildings and industrial design.
