Located at 900 Santa Fe Drive, D’art Gallery hosts the gallery’s first exhibition of work by International and National Artists from Thursday, November 14 through Sunday, December 8, 2019. The Artists Opening Reception for “Changes” is scheduled for Friday, November 15 from 6–9 p.m. The Gallery is open for the First Friday Art Walk in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe on Friday, December 6 from 6–9 p.m. and participates in Art of the Brunch on Sunday, November 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Changes”
The theme of the exhibition, “Changes” is a nod to growing, to reinventing, to defying the critics, an artist might experience and invites the artists to ‘step out on their own’ to create visual works about the many changes surrounding our lives, environment, and thought processes. Suggested themes include personal changes such as: seasonal, climate, social, economic, relationship, historic, and any other aspect of an artist’s life.
The International Show features artwork expressed through painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, fiber, and photography. The gallery solicited the work through a call for entry to International and National Artists. Artists from 29 states and 5 countries outside the United States applied to the call for art.
Juror
Michael McClung, Co-Owner and Director of Michael Warren Contemporary Art, is the Juror for the exhibition. Like D’art Gallery the Michael Warren Gallery showcases contemporary artwork with an emphasis on materials and process. D’art Gallery is appreciative of his time and talent to jury the “Changes” exhibition.
Best of Show
There is a “Best of Show” cash prize that will be determined by the juror and presented to the artist at the Artists Opening Reception on Friday, November 15.
Gallery Hours are Thursdays, noon to 5 p.m., Fridays, noon to 9 p.m., Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m.
