CHAC is celebrating El Dia de los Muertos! Join us for pan de muerto (bread), face painting, a pinata and traditional Aztec dancers who will lead the processional starting at the corner of 2nd and Santa Fe at 6:45 p.m. “Nosotros Familia” a community ofrenda altar encourages people to bring 3x5 pictures of loved ones who have passed starting Friday, October 4. CHAC is proud to continue this annual celebration and is proud to be among one of Denver’s earliest organizations dedicated to this ancient Mexican custom. Works of local artists and Dia de los Muertos merchandise will be sold.
CHAC Gallery & Cultural Center was founded in 1978 by a group of visual and performing artists. The organization was established as a place where Chicano/Latino artists were provided with a venue to explore visual and performance art and promote and preserve the Chicano/Latino culture through the expression of the arts.
