"I refer to this work as "organic geometry". The forms themselves are organic in nature. Pods, leaves, peaks, moons, and asteroids. The way I treat these forms is very stylized with fluid lines and edges, which are reminiscent of geometrics.
I am concerned with volume, the space the piece occupies, as well as the negative space the pieces create. Pit firing these pieces gives them a seamless, all around finish that enhances the forms. Also, the fact that the firing itself dictates the results is an exciting way to finish each form."
Don't forget third Friday. Easy parking and more time to view all of the works in the gallery along with visiting different artist's studios
