Kokedama is a type of Japanese bonsai that developed out of the kusamono & neagari bonsai arts & encapsulates the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-sabi. Kokedama are made by creating a special clay based soil that is balled around the roots of a plant & then wrapped in moss & tied. This class will teach you the history of kokedama as a form of bonsai art, about the aesthetic of wabi-sabi, & how to make and care for kokedama. You will leave with TWO kokedama featuring different plants.
