My class intends to teach artists that they can expand their own art by allowing themselves to NOT fear the unknown. Boundaries that they themselves have set need to be broken. Fear NOT the unknown outcome, but embrace it. It is only by this allowance that they will grow. The actual class will consist of a Friday night lecture where I discuss this (my) process both in lecture and demonstration. Saturday will be spent on students working through my methods on one or more pieces, with close scrutiny and encouragement. Both morning and afternoon sessions will conclude with both self and group critiques. I hope when each student leaves the workshop that they have a new sense of confidence with a mental rulebook on how to make better art.
