Textures In Art

  • Sync Gallery 931 Santa Fe Drive Denver, CO, 80204 United States (map)

Helene Strebel observes, "there are secrets in these abstract paintings, not everything is immediately perceptible, or translated for the viewer." She usually looks to create forms of art with strong components and strong colors. Her goal is to create an open narrative, an open platform for anyone to project their own perception. Helene does not think in a linear way, but in a way that brings things together!

A number of collectors in the USA and Europe are in possession of Helene's artwork. She sees her art as a gift of pleasure, a gift of education, and a gift to last.

Jean Herman wants her viewer to experience the same depth of joy that she feels every day experiencing life and all its wonders. Accompany her on a spiritual journey where the world is better understood through art; the world we live in is complex and beautiful and Jean uses her art to respond to it.

Jean's recent trip to Egypt and Petra touched her deeply. She reacted to these beautiful and ancient places by interpreting her feelings and overwhelmed senses with her distinctive art form. Ancient rocks and Goddesses are seen through her art that depends on texture, using color, collage, and stitch.

She uses photos as a memory guide then translates ideas into a fabric collage using her hand painted fabric as well as commercial fabrics where layers create color and depth. Stitching is the magic that turns color, shape, and line into a texture-based fabric painting. Color and texture are utilized to interpret the diverse range of people and places that make this life so interesting and unique. When you experience her art many times you will feel the need to touch it. This is the magic of texture and fabric art.
