OUR HALLOWEEN EVENT! Come one, come all, to our spooky Halloween Cocktail Party, a fundraiser benefitting award-winning PBS Journalist & community member, Alec Berg, in their gender-affirming top surgery.
Alec is a journalist at Rocky Mountain PBS. Before working at PBS, Alec rose through the ranks at their college newspaper and completed internships in Utah, California, Washington DC and other parts of Colorado.
Alec covers inequality across the state, with a specific focus on the LGBTQ+ community. Alec has dedicated much of their career to their community. They've covered stories about organized discrimination against LGBTQ+ kids in rural Colorado, laws impacting the community, and the devastating and long-lasting impacts of the Club Q shooting.
Their work also focuses on queer joy and they're passionate about highlighting queer success stories. They have done projects about trans children who are finding community and defining their identities on their own terms in the face of historic harassment and harmful legislation.
This cocktail party is set to be BEAUTIFUL. Think: moody lighting. DJ. Performances. Drinks & snacks included in your ticket price. Silent auction. All proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction will be donated directly to Alec to help fund their top surgery! Be spooky for a good cause 🤝
Friday, October 25th. Ticket purchase required for entry, sliding scale tickets available as well.
